Protect Your Concept With Aliases.

You’ve created a website to support your new or growing company.  Before you launch it live, be sure to lock down your identity to prevent copycatting and imposters.  One very effective way is by using aliases:  Example — let’s say your company is an information resource about censorship — a very very hot topic these days.  And you appropriately name your website “CensorBlock” (currently available in our Studio).  Perfect name, right?  Dynamic, powerful.  Definitely outstanding.  But — think of this — what if a competitor or hater comes along, reverses the words, and buys the domain name “BlockCensor” and then uses that name to copycat you and confuse people by redirecting them to their imposter site instead?  You’ve just lost the power of your identity.

The smart thing to do when choosing your identity domains is to also purchase possible aliases that competitors might think of to manipulate traffic and undercut your success.  In this example, you would purchase both CensorBlock AND BlockCensor.  Ask your hosting company to “point” both domain names to the visible primary name.  Meaning, your website’s visible name is www.CensorBlock.com; but, if visitors should enter www.BlockCensor.com, they will still end up at your site.  That second domain name, although not visible, is in the background protecting your primary identity, and you just stopped the bad guys in their tracks.

Other types of aliases are singular and plural variations of your primary name.  A perfect example is TissuesNTears.com, a beautiful package currently available in our Studio.  Note that the TissuesNTears.com package includes multiple aliases (TissuesAndTears.com, TissueAndTears.com), making TissuesNTears.com impossibly challenging to copycat, and keeping the power of the TissuesNTears concept in your hands.
